CAF members who are victims have rights!!

Are You A Victim?

 Victim means a person against whom a service offence has been committed, or is alleged to have been committed, who has suffered, or is alleged to have suffered, physical or emotional harm, property damage or economic loss as a result of the commission or alleged commission of the offence and includes a person who has suffered physical or emotional harm, property damage or economic loss as a result of the commission of a service offence against any person.

It is pretty lengthy so please click below and check it out in full. Here are some excerpts:

Investigation and proceedings

71.03 Every victim has the right, on request, to information about

  • (a) the status and outcome of the investigation into the service offence; and
  • (b) the location of proceedings in relation to the offence, when they will take place and their progress and outcome.

 71.06 Every victim has the right to have reasonable and necessary measures taken by the appropriate authorities in the military justice system to protect the victim from intimidation and retaliation.

Victim Rights Being Infringed?

Whether unknowingly or not, the CoC has a duty under the National Defence Act to support your rights as a victim. If the rights that you are provided are being infringed then submit a Victim Complaint Form.
